Indianapolis Office 3 on 3 basketball tournament

Recently the Indianapolis office got together to play some 3 on 3 basketball at Life Time Fitness. The signup sheet had been passed around the office, sent out on our internal app, and pushed through email. In total 30 people got 10 teams together to play pick-up basketball in a tournament that lasted nearly 2 hours.

There were, of course, some rules to play by. First, each game was played to 12 points. However, in order to call a win, the winners had to score two points higher than their opponents. Secondly, each basket was worth one point, with a traditional “3 pointer” being worth two. Lastly, and most importantly, the winning team got to take home 300 dollars.

The bracket, as well as the tournament, was spear-headed by Brock Symon. And all of the players seemed to have a great time. The winning team was made up of three Loan Advisors. Their team name was “The Closers”. Made up of; Patrick Lane, Jared Shore, and Greg Watson, they each got to take home 100 dollars, for their time.

The company culture here at Royal United is one that encourages interdepartmental mingling, friendly competition, and active lifestyles. The success of the 3 on 3 basketball tournament was built from these concepts. We’re glad that many of our staff could get together in a way that promotes the culture of our company.
