Age is just a number

We had a very interesting caller right before the New Year. This wonderfully vivacious, 68-year young girl was inquiring about the best way to use her home equity to pay college tuition…for her. Aggie told our Loan Advisor, “I was married for 32 years, been widowed for 5, and I’ve always wanted to finish school and get my degree.”

A quick check showed us that she had excellent credit and more than enough equity to give her several options from which to choose. Plus, her husband had been a veteran which added to her already numerous possibilities. The only fly in the ointment was a little trepidation on her part, “I dropped out after my sophomore year and going back part-time I figure it will take me another 3-4 to get my Bachelor’s. I will be 72 or 73 by then…am I crazy?”

Our Loan Advisor eased her mind by asking Aggie a very simple question, “So it will take 4 years to reach your dream and you’ll be 73…how old will you be in 4 years if you don’t go back to school?”

You see it’s not important how old or young you are going to be; it’s only important that you don’t look back some day and say, “I wish I would have…”

Live your dreams; or at the very least don’t let age stop you from finding out what it will take to achieve them.  Here’s what another couple told us:
