Happy 15th Birthday School on Wheels

Birthdays are always fun no matter the circumstance. But, when you’re celebrating 15 years of helping to end the cycle of homelessness through education in our community, it is exhilarating!

As a partner with School on Wheels, the team at Royal United upholds this mission in many ways. By giving time with the students through weekly tutoring, donating supplies and uniforms, helping throw holiday parties and more, our team is a strong supporter.

This organization started 15 years ago because the founder and CEO Sally Bindley and her mother decided they wanted to do something to help students at a local school who were struggling with homelessness. Before they knew it, the organization doubled in size, then tripled, and finally reached the level they are at today. With the help of nearly 400 volunteers, they are reaching 350 children at 13 different sites!

Tutors, donors, and supporters attended the School on Wheels birthday party made new connections and enjoyed hearing about the importance of education and outreach. The office had a nice timeline display plus food and drink to celebrate the occasion. Birthday cake is always nice but it’s even better when you can enjoy it while learning about such a great organization.

Happy birthday School on Wheels. We look forward to many more!
