Indianapolis office spends some time with School on Wheels and the Indianapolis Zoo
It was a perfect morning as our team gathered outside the Indianapolis Zoo. Over 10 people from the Indianapolis office, and a few members of staff from School on Wheels were all happy to be there! We had gathered for a great reason, to treat nearly 30 children and some of their family members to a trip to the Indianapolis Zoo.
Children who are in the School on Wheels program rarely get a chance to go to the zoo, so on this day they were unable to contain their excitement. This trip was only made possible by the generosity of our colleagues here at Royal United Mortgage LLC who selflessly donated to our charity program via a payroll deduction.
Emerson Cruz said this about the event, “I learned a lot today. The number one thing being that the kids have a lot more energy than I do!” Emerson had spent the better part of the trip chaperoning some of the kids, and being their personal jungle-gym.
Cindy Ruby, a member of our HR staff also enjoyed her time there. She had planned the trip, and it’s thanks to her effort, that the trip came about as well as it did. “I was nervous, but it went perfectly. Everything went the way we planned and I couldn’t be happier.” Her favorite event had been the Orangutans, as she took a small excursion to go visit the Orangutan Center, a massive enclosure which allows for free-roaming primates, a second time.
Alex Grundy also had a lot of fun at this event “It was hot, sweaty, and fantastic. I made a new friend!” He too had been chaperoning, for the majority of the day. He had a wonderful time, and the children from The School on Wheels loved him.
The trip was a massive success, and we couldn’t be more proud of the members of our staff who donated so such a worthy cause.
