Royal United Mortgage LLC and the Salvation Army: A Match Made in Heaven
The Royal United Mortgage LLC. Cincinnati branch was more than happy to help the local Salvation Army serve Christmas dinner to members of the community. The Cincinnati Salvation Army location houses the elderly and those with mental illnesses. When it comes to where to live, these individuals have very few options. There are 150 apartments at this facility alone.
Every year the Salvation Army hosts a dinner where residents can come to enjoy a great meal and the company of others. This year Royal United Mortgage LLC. volunteers were there to help serve food and refreshments. The food smelled spectacular and the drinks never ran out with our team making sure everybody had what they wanted. The smiles on everyone’s faces were the best part of the day. The residents enjoyed the meal and loved spending time with “the volunteers in the blue shirts”.
But those with the biggest smiles were the ones that were serving the meals. There were smiles bigger than I have ever seen on the faces of my colleagues! One teammate was even picked to read a Christmas story which was a “left-right gift exchange.” Luckily everybody kept their composure. While that was going on another volunteer was making sure that his table did the left-right exchange correctly. There would be NO shenanigans at that table!
After everything was done, leaders at the Salvation Army thanked us for our help, and invited us back for more volunteer service opportunities that are already on our calendars!
The entire team of volunteers truly loved this opportunity to serve the community. It was a blessing for everyone involved.
