Talking About Home Refinance Loans?

“My husband and I have been talking about talking about getting our home refinanced…but all we do is talk about discussing it…we never really talk about it,” so said Linda when she called us to talk about it. “Does that make any sense?”

Actually it does.

We all lead busy lives and seldom does a day slip away without a customer telling one of our Loan Advisors that, “We’ve talked about this for a long time but we just never had the time to talk to anyone about it.” It seems there is always a something else that gets in the way of us taking action on the things we know we should be addressing.

Refinancing your home is a great example. If you are a homeowner – unless you’ve been incommunicado for the last few years – you have talked to someone about the great mortgage rates that are still available; and unless you haven’t yet managed the whole 2+2=4 concept you’ve probably talked about the big bucks you could potentially be saving.

But how many times did you really, really talk about what we are talking about? My guess is none.

Bills, kids, home repairs and dog grooming all get in the way of talking about wisely managing your finances. Yet the irony is that nothing impacts your finances as much as bills, kids, home repairs and dog grooming…well maybe not the dog part but you get the idea.

And while you are not talking about it, the mortgage payment doesn’t shrink but the bank account does, the credit card interest keeps getting bigger, the kids’ clothes get smaller, the roof leaks and the dog reeks.
