Toenails? Refinance?

Walter from Texas is one of the funniest customers we’ve ever had. In fact, he established new standards for what funny really means – and in the process he reminded us of why we are in this business.

It started when he complained to our Loan Advisor that he wanted to refinance his home so he could, “Have enough extra cash to get a pedicure.” When he didn’t receive an immediate response from our normally loquacious but now speechless representative, Walter continued sullenly, “My feet are so ugly the dog leaves the room when I take off my shoes and my wife threatens to leave me if I don’t wear socks. The salon folks want to charge me a lot extra just to trim the nails!”    

“You want to refinance your mortgage to pay get your toenails clipped?” our stunned Advisor asked.

“Nah,” Walter replied cheerfully, “We want to get a new pool…I just wanted to see what you would say.”

It took longer for our Advisor to stop laughing than it did to process the loan.
