TURKEY WITH CORNBREAD STUFFING
Thanksgiving is this week and this year Royal United Mortgage wants to help you create a healthy Thanksgiving meal. Our Wellness Committee started collecting recipes from our employees for our first ever employee cookbook. To help with your planning, we want to share some of our favorites with you! This week’s recipe, of Turkey with Cornbread Stuffing, is from Suzanne Daoust.
Turkey with Cornbread Stuffing
Ingredients:
12 -14 lb turkey
Dry rub
12 oz Italian dressing
½ cup dry white wine
1 cup celery
3 cups cornbread crumbled
1 cup onions
1 tbsp. salt
½ cup green pepper
1 tsp black pepper
1 cup wild rice
1 cup raw popcorn
Directions:
1. Combine the dressing and wine – inject into the
turkey.
2. Combine celery, onions, green pepper, wild rice,
cornbread, salt, pepper, and raw popcorn – stuff
turkey.
3. Cook at 350 F until the popcorn pops and blows
the rear off the turkey!
